After Sir William Gladwyn’s untimely death, his wife Rosalind was left the family estate, fortune, and titles. The young widow found some truth to the saying that it’s more comfortable to cry in a castle than in a hut, but don’t be fooled to think that she had it easy. She was, namely, not only a widow but also a single parent - mother to Sir William’s only son and heir, Phillip.
Raising a little boy by herself was a role Rosalind was far from prepared for. A lady of her station wasn’t expected to do it all on her own, of course (that’s what the governess was for), but the young mother still found herself at a loss how to bond with her son. Without a father figure to guide him and his mother preferring a hands-off approach, young Phillip grew up a bit buck wild, and as he’s getting older, it’s getting increasingly difficult for Lady Rosalind to find a common tongue with him. Can mother and son mend their broken relationship before it’s too late? And more importantly, will Rosalind muster enough authority over Phillip to talk him out of his dangerous pursuit to be just like father?
